The Jayhawk Club is a 27 hole golf course located in Lawrence, Kansas.
The Club was, until 2016, named Alvamar Country Club, and was a 36 hole golf facility located. The facility had two 18-hole golf courses. They were The Private Course and The Public Course. The Alvamar Country Club Private Course first opened for play in 1968. The course was designed by Bob Dunning.
The Alvamar Country Club Public Course closed in 2016. Among other changes, The Club changed its name to The Jayhawk Club and The Private Course was been expanded to 27 holes.
The original 18 hole Private Course course played to a par 72. From the back tees, the course played to 7,092 yards. From the forward tees, the course measured 4892 yards. The longest hole on the course was # 17, a par-5 that played to 562 yards. The shortest hole on the course was # 12, a par-3 that plays to 192 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 6, a 444-yard par-4 challenge, the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at the Private Course was # 12, a 192 yard par-3.

Tough course. Leave your driver at home and you will be happier. Accuracy is far more important than length. Greens are fast but fair if you can get the up-hill / down-hill thing figured out. A little local knowledge would be a great help as there are many big numbers to be made if you get it off line on some of the blind tee shots. (billions of trees) Lots of fun if you can keep it in the short grass.
